Some of these guitar chords, like the F major and B major are a little more difficult for a beginner guitarist to press. They
are added here for the sake of continuity, and because you really should learn to play them.
Be that as it may, start with the easy ones first, and before long the other chords will go a lot easier.
Correct guitar chord fingering
Below you can see how your fingers should look on the fretboard. Notice how the notes are pressed just behind the fret, not
too far back or right on top of the fret.
You can also see the precise downward hammer like action of the fingers, which allows all the notes of the chord to sound
clearly, without blocking adjacent guitar strings.

Major guitar chords
Major chords are normally written without an extension, So A major, would be written simply as A.
An exception to this would be any major seventh chord.
In the pictures below, an X over a string means that the string is not played.
The nut is that thing after the head of the guitar, inbetween the tuners and fretboard, that the strings go through.
I just had to make that clear as a drummer friend of mine couldn't tell what it was from looking at the pictures.

Minor guitar chords
Minor guitar chords sound sad, as opposed to the majors.
A chord is composed of three or more notes. Basic major and minor chords have only three, the root note (the note the
chord is named after), the third (which is actually the second note), and the fifth.
In the case of minor chords, the third (2nd note remember)is a semitone lower, which saddens the sound of the chord a bit.
A semitone is one fret spacing on the guitar, and lower means closer to the nut.
(Whew) Okay here are the minor guitar chords.

Where you see the index finger, ie the 1 finger, placed across more than one string, it means you must
place your finger flat across the fretboard to cover all the notes.
On the guitar, they're called "Bar chords".
